Govt. determines to put LISCR E-mail scandal to rest…
The Liberian Government says it is determined to further dig into the LISCR E-mail scandal to establish the fact into the matter.
Presidential Press Secretary, Cyrus Badio told journalists Monday that the government will continue seeking legal means to put the matter to rest.
Mr. Badio said following the submission of the Dun Commission's report regarding the appointment of a special prosecutor six-months ago, President Sirleaf wrote the Liberia Anti Corruption Commission requesting it to follow up on the recommendations.
According to the presidential press secretary, the chairperson of the Anti –corruption Commission, Cllr. Francis Johnson-Morris, advised the Liberian leader that the legislation governing the commission does not permit it to do so.
He disclosed that the Justice Minister upon the directive of the President requested the Liberia National Bar Association to nominate a reputable lawyer to serve as prosecutor.
He however disclosed that efforts are being exerted to recruit a special prosecutor.
