Finance Minister welcomes national budget debate…
Finance Minister, Augustine Ngafuan says he sees the current debate surrounding the National budget as a wonderful case of what Liberia's democracy should be.
Minister Ngafuan said, it is good for Liberians to differ on what he calls various issues aimed at achieving poverty reduction, sustainable growth and development.
He expressed the belief that such exercise is healthy for the country's emerging democracy giving Liberia's tragic history of violence.
The Minister spoke Tuesday at the launch of the African Economic Outlook, and the African Development reports 2008/2009.
He noted that this year's report investigates the causes and consequences of violent conflicts, focusing on prevention and resolution, peace building, among others.
