Govt. releases new transport fares…
The Liberian Government has released new transport fares covering Monrovia and its environs.
Addressing a joint news conference Thursday, Commerce Minister, Miatta Beyslow and Deputy Transport Minister, Julius Caesar said the new fares are in line with the current price of petroleum products on the world market.
According to the new fares, from central Monrovia to Paynesville Red-light is forty five Liberian dollars, while from central Monrovia to ELWA junction is thirty five dollars.
From central Monrovia to Old Road and Airfield Sinkor, is thirty and twenty five dollars, respectively.
From Duala to Paynesville Red-light is forty-five dollars; while from Duala to New Georgia, Gardnersville, and Bardnersville junction are twenty-five dollars per distance.
Ministers Beyslow and Caesar disclosed that government will not relent in prosecuting anyone caught over-charging outside of the approved fares.
